Welcome

Hi, I'm Paola.

I have specialty training in treating Anxiety Disorders, Phobias, OCD, TIC/Tourettes, Body Dysmorphia, and Body-focused Repetitive Behaviors. I have 5 years of experience in the school setting supporting students with 504 and IEP plans. I enjoy working with children and teens to help them gain the skills and confidence to strive on and off campus.

When I’m not soaking up the sunshine, reading a good book, or practicing yoga, you can usually find me spending time with the people I love, exploring somewhere new. My approach to therapy is shaped by an understanding of culture, identity, family dynamics, and life experiences. I strive to create a judgment free and collaborative space where you can explore your story with compassion. I am passionate about supporting people of various backgrounds to help create meaningful change in their lives and regain confidence.

Whether you are a child, teen, or adult, I can address your specific needs. I offer a free 15 minute consultation to get to know more about me and the work we could do together. Your success is my success!

What I Help With

Specialized therapy for what you're carrying.

Building resilience starts with understanding what you're up against. I offer focused, evidence-based support for the challenges first-generation adults most often carry — so you can heal without leaving your story behind.

OCD & ERP

Obsessions, compulsions, intrusive thoughts, and rituals. Evidence-based Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) to help you break free and live fully.

Learn more

OCD is more than being neat, organized, or liking things a certain way. It can show up as unwanted thoughts, nagging doubts, uncomfortable feelings, or a strong urge to do certain behaviors or mental rituals to feel better, more certain, or “just right.” If you have OCD, you may find yourself stuck in a cycle that feels exhausting, frustrating, and hard to break.

The good news is that OCD is highly treatable. Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the most effective treatment for OCD and helps you learn a new way of responding to fears, doubts, and uncertainty. Rather than getting pulled into OCD's cycle, you'll gradually practice facing what feels uncomfortable while building confidence in your ability to handle it.

ERP isn't about forcing yourself to be uncomfortable or getting rid of every intrusive thought. It's about helping OCD take up less space in your life so you can spend more time focused on the people, activities, and values that matter most to you. Together, we'll work toward greater freedom, flexibility, and confidence—one step at a time.

Anxiety Disorders

Overthinking, worry, feeling on edge, and constant “what ifs.” Practical tools to calm your mind and your body.

Learn more

Anxiety can feel like your mind is always one step ahead—running through worst-case scenarios, replaying conversations, or getting stuck in an endless cycle of “what ifs.” It can show up as constant worry, difficulty relaxing, trouble sleeping, irritability, or feeling on edge even when there's no immediate danger.

While anxiety is a normal human experience, it can become overwhelming when it starts getting in the way of your relationships, work, school, or daily life. Together, we'll work to better understand your anxiety, identify the patterns keeping it going, and develop practical tools to help you respond differently.

Using evidence-based approaches, we'll focus on calming both your mind and body, building confidence in your ability to handle uncertainty, and helping you spend less time worrying and more time being present in the life you want to live.

BFRBs, Tics & HRT

Hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, tics, and Tourette's. Habit Reversal Training (HRT) to build awareness and create lasting change.

Learn more

Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), such as hair pulling, skin picking, and nail biting, are often misunderstood. These behaviors are not simply “bad habits” or a lack of willpower—they can be complex patterns that develop as a way to cope with stress, boredom, discomfort, or other difficult emotions. If you've found yourself promising to stop, only to slip back into the behavior, you're not alone.

Tics are sudden, repetitive movements or sounds that can feel difficult—or sometimes impossible—to control. Many people with tics or Tourette syndrome spend a great deal of energy trying to suppress them, often leading to frustration, exhaustion, or feeling misunderstood by others.

Habit Reversal Training (HRT) is an evidence-based approach that helps increase awareness of the behavior, identify triggers, and develop alternative responses. Together, we'll work to better understand your patterns, build practical skills, and create lasting changes that feel realistic and sustainable. The goal isn't perfection—it's helping you feel more in control and less stuck in the cycle.

Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is a mental health condition characterized by persistent, distressing thoughts about perceived flaws in one’s physical appearance that may be unnoticeable or seem minor to others.

Learn more

These concerns can lead to repetitive behaviors, such as mirror checking, excessive grooming, comparing oneself to others, or seeking reassurance. BDD can significantly impact self-esteem, relationships, and daily functioning. Treatment includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), particularly exposure and response prevention (ERP), to help individuals reduce appearance-related distress and compulsive behaviors.
